How early is too early? Let’s talk about the rise of "Code Orange" sightings in retail stores during August and whether it ruins the magic or extends the joy.

I think the early displays can actually get us in the mood for Halloween, but there's a fine line before it feels like a cash grab. It’s all about how they curate the spooky vibes! 🎃

June = cash grab. way too early. :( and sadly, i've seen stuff pop up in some stores as early as late June. It sort of ruins the spirit of things (see what I did there?)

June is the line where it becomes much too early to see Halloween-themed items in-store. even mid-July. That being said, I shop the local Michael's crafts and gifts in my neighboring town, and in July they start putting some things out. By August, they start putting out Lemax Spooky-Town items and at about the same time the seasonal Ashland brand miniatures (which i absolutely love!) ... anyway, trying to stay more on-topic ... pre-4th of July? i'm not having it.

Summer feels a bit too early for store displays. But I have lived in Japan for a year and a half and I often really miss them, early or not.

I don't think it ruins the magick of Halloween to have summer Halloween goodies. I enjoy seeing the stuff in stores as early as July 5th. My one qualm with it is the stores that tend to do this also do away with the Halloween content by mid-October or even earlier. Doctor General and Wallgreens are very guilty of this. I've even commented that the most unrealistic thing about Hocus Pocus 2 is that the store still had Halloween merchandise out and no Christmas stuff yet.

I'm all for Halloween being out on display early, but I don't like when it's put away early.
